美国麻州春田市议会全票通过决议,正式认可春节为每年庆祝的节日

Springfield, Massachusetts, has made a historic move by officially recognizing Lunar New Year as an annual city-supported holiday. The Springfield City Council, led by Council President Mike Fenton, unanimously passed this resolution on January 29, 2024, making Springfield the fourth city in the United States to do so, following similar announcements by California, New York, and Boston in 2023. This decision not only celebrates Lunar New Year but also honors the contributions of the Chinese community in Springfield, Massachusetts, and across the United States. The resolution means Springfield will now officially celebrate Lunar New Year with community events each year, highlighting the city’s commitment to embracing and respecting diverse cultures.
