The “Hero” Girl, Christina Lu, received the Award of “Hero of Community” for standing out to stop the crime

On January 1, 2022, Christina Lu received the ACUA’s “Hero of Community” award for stepping out and helping an Asian kid who was being bullied on the SEPTA. The Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Senates praised Christina Lu for her bravery and conduct in awarding the hero prizes.

Christina Lu won this award for her efforts to lessen violence in society. Since the event, many American “netizens” have denounced bullying, including racism, and blasted the Philadelphia Department of Education’s and the Philadelphia SEPTA’s poor leadership. The call to “Stop Asian Hate” marked the beginning of protests against racism and the harsh treatment of Asian people in various parts of the US.

Christina thanked everyone who recognized and supported her. She expressed her desire during the awards ceremony for Philadelphia’s educational and security climate to improve and for American society to show more interest in Asian populations.
